Dell 1350cnw Review: First Look

The Dell 1350cnw laser-class, single-function printer was released in , and upon its introduction, Dell held itas the smallest color letter, laser-class network printer in the world. The printer is in the same line as the Dell 1250c, another laser printer given the distinction as the smallest color A4/Letter laser class printer in the world.

According to Dell’s product webpage on the 1350cnw, it’s designed for the small office/home office (SOHO) and offers a 700 color/black page yield per cartridge, a Wi-Fi (wireless) network connection, black and white print speeds of up to 15 ppm, up to 12 ppm in color and a monthly duty cycle up to 30,000 pages.

BUILD AND DESIGN

The Dell 1350cnw features an all-black design with a matte finish. Its small footprint measures in at approximately 15.5 x 11.8 x 8.9 (W x D x H) when not in use. It is a little on the heavy side, though — weighing in at about 23 pounds with the consumables installed. It is definitely small enough to fit on most any desk.

This laser-class printer can print in regular and thick plain paper, cover paper (106-163g/m2), coated media (106-163g/m2), labels, envelopes, and Hagaki (190gsm). Both the bypass tray and feed tray can fit weights of 60gsm to 216gsm. The feed tray can fit 150 sheets and the bypass tray can fit 10 sheets. The output tray folds out from the top and extends toward the front of the device rather than toward the back like most inkjets.

The bypass tray lies above the feed drawer and both extend outward when the cover is open. The feed drawer can be re-sized to fit A4, 11-inch, 8.5-inch and B5 sizes while the bypass tray can be resized to fit A5, B5, A4, and 8.5 x 11 paper sizes, and can also be removed. Both trays sizing bars are labeled appropriately.
