Dell 2350d Review

After the announcement of eight new color laser-class printersin , Dell followed with the launch of three new monochrome laser printersin . The new printers are targeted at small and medium businesses offering customers an option in between the small office, home office (SOHO) models and the large enterprise units.

Today, we’ll sharing our full review of the Dell 2350d, the entry level model in the 2350 series. The 2350d is a single function monochrome laser printer featuring print speeds up to 40 pages per minute with a print resolution up to 1200 x 1200 dpi, automatic duplexing, a monthly duty cycle up to 60,000 pages and Energy Star efficiency.

BUILD AND DESIGN

Which is not necessarily a bad thing; it sort of blends into an office environment and with the approximate dimensions of 10 x 17 x 17 inches, it fits on most desktops.

The above mentioned 150-sheet output bin and control panel sit on top of the Dell 2350d. The control panel consists of a two line backlit LCD and six keys: menu, back, enter, cancel and two directional arrows.

Press a small button on the right hand side of the 2350d to open the entire front panel and access the single black toner cartridge. The 2350d is available with a standard capacity cartridge that yields approx. 2,000 pages, or a high capacity cartridge that yields approx. 6,000 pages.

Pull the small handle on the front of the 2350d to open the 50-sheet multi-purpose tray, perfect for a variety of envelopes, labels, etc.

Beneath the 50-sheet multi-purpose tray is the 250-sheet standard paper drawer, compatible with media ranging from 4 x 6 inches to 8.5 x 14 inches. For customers in need of a larger paper capacity, the Dell 2350d is available with a second 550-sheet paper drawer, taking the total paper capacity up to 850 sheets.

On the right hand side of the 2350d, users will find a small panel for accessing the memory. The 2350d features a 400 MHz processor with 32MB of memory standard, but customers can purchase additional memory for a maximum memory capacity up to 160MB.

All connections are found on the back of the 2350d. The Dell 2350d offers Hi-Speed USB 2.0 and Parallel port options.
