HP Blackbird 002 desktop going retail

HP today announced that its Blackbird 002 gaming desktop will be available in an exclusive fixed configuration at Amazon.com, Newegg.com, and select Best Buy, Circuit City, J&R, and Micro Center retail stores this summer.

This is the first time the Blackbird 002 will be available in retail stores. Its exclusive configuration will be priced at $3,299, and will have the following specifications:

  • Intel Core 2 Quad Q9450
  • Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit
  • CPU liquid cooling
  • Nvidia nForce SLI motherboard with RAID support
  • Dual Nvidia GeForce 9800GTgraphics cards
  • 4GB Corsair DOMINATOR RAMwith DHX heatsinks
  • 500GB 7200RPM hard drive
  • Five internal, hot-swappable hard drive bays
  • 7.1 surround integrated audio
  • 900 watt power supply
  • One-year warranty
